Whether you want to make a general donation to lifesaving cancer research at Cleveland Clinic or support a participant in Bike to Cure or Trike & Bike, you can donate online in a variety of ways. If you would like the donation to be credited to a Participant/Personal Fundraising Page, please provide their name at the time of the donation. If they are not already registered for Bike to Cure or Trike & Bike, their donation will be credited to their Personal Fundraising Page upon registration.

It’s easy to recommend a grant to VeloSano directly from your DAF account.

Simply search for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation or by our federal tax EIN 34-0714585 with your DAF sponsor to recommend your grant.

Please include VeloSano as the designation, as well as the name of any Rider or Team you may be supporting. We typically receive DAF grant payments within two weeks and will credit the Rider or Team immediately.

Don’t have a DAF? Consider reaching out to a financial advisor to learn about how to make your charitable giving more impactful with this flexible, tax-efficient way to give.

A DAF is like a charitable investment account where you can receive an immediate tax deduction and then recommend grants immediately or over time. Special Note:

VeloSano Bike to Cure Participants who are riding and fundraising for cancer research in honor of a friend or loved one, please include the direct link to your Personal Fundraising Page. 100% of any memorial gift received will benefit cancer research. For acknowledgment, you will be notified of gifts made in your loved one’s name by Cleveland Clinic.

One of the most long-lasting and impactful ways to support cancer research is through planned giving. Including a gift to VeloSano through your will or as part of your estate planning will help generations to come fight cancer.

Requirements of a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

• You must be 70 ½ or older.
• You may make a gift of up to $108,000, or a married couple with separate IRA accounts may give up to $216,000.
• The distribution must be made directly to a qualified charity such as Cleveland Clinic.
• Your gift must be outright (tax-free rollovers to a life-income gift such as a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust do not qualify).

This Will Benefit You

• If you are taking required distributions from your IRA, because the charitable distribution counts toward the minimum requirement.
• If you usually donate (up to half of your adjusted gross income) to charity.
• If you do not need the income from your IRA, or if the income from an IRA distribution will substantially increase your taxed income.
• Whether you itemize or take the standard deduction.

Additional Advantages

• You can make pledge payments with a QCD (no out-of-pocket expense).
• You can fulfill your pledge sooner than anticipated.
• QCDs can open opportunities for additional charitable gifts by increasing available income through tax advantageous planning.

Remember, you have not paid taxes on your IRA contribution. By donating your distribution to charity, you will not have to pay federal income taxes on the distribution. A QCD does not qualify for a charitable deduction on your income tax.
